Description

Wow. That. Took. A. Long. Time.

Terry Pratchett's Discworld, everypony! It's Rincewind and Luggage. Don't you just love being chased by the pitter-patter of hundreds of tiny hooves?

In related news, I'm roleplaying Rincewind Pony over at My Little Nightmare [link]

Here's his bio page: <Will contain minor spoilers for those who haven't read The Color of Magic and The Light Fantastic. Go read them now.>

Name: Rincewind

Gender: Male

Age: Young Adult (Human years: 18-20)

Species: Unicorn

Pelt Color: White or Light Grey

Mane/Tail Color & Style: Brownish-Orange. Messy, wavy mane about down to his neck. Has an equally wavy beard.

Eye Color: Octarine (Something of a greenish-purple-orange color) <note: if you aren't a unicorn, this color appears as a translucent silver, like mercury>.

Additional Features: Wears a wrinkled, and torn, mage's cap and cape. Both are red with gold embroidery. On the cap is the word "unocorn" written in gold ink (yes, it's mispelled). Cape is clasped with a medallion bearing an octogram.

Cutie Mark & What it Represents: Either 8 or ∞ - It's diagonal so even he's not sure if it's an eight or the infinity sign. Eight is a magical number where he comes from, but he likes to believe the infinity stands for the infinite ways the universe has tried to kill him. Then again, the eight could be how many of his lives he's used up.

Residence: Travels; Hangs around taverns.

Occupation: A mighty wizzard.

Skills: HA! Oh, you were being serious? He has the body of a unicorn but the spirit of a race horse. Very skilled at running, particularly away from things, if he can help it. Adept at learning languages, he can pick up the basics within minutes and become fluent within days. He also has a great abundance of luck, both good and bad. He has an intimate relationship with Murphy's Law.

Lack of skills: The list goes ON AND ON! Notable: he cannot cast even the simplest of spells despite being a unicorn. No levitation. No door opening. No spelling. He's as literate as a lake is flammable.

The Luggage: He's rarely seen without his travelling chest. It looks like a deep wood, gold bolted pirate chest. Of course, no pony is likely to have seen a chest with hundreds of little hooves protruding from the bottom. Nor has anypony witnessed another chest equipped with a mahogany tongue or rows of teeth. It is seemingly immune to magic (not that its owner is capable of casting any). The Luggage is also capable of holding many items, even if they don't seem to be able to fit inside. Anything removed from the chest will always smell sweetly of lavender.

Likes: Peace; solitude; gold; respect

Dislikes: Danger; Being dragged on adventures; Death; Heights; Flowers (it's a long story)

Character Personality: Speaks with a mild, Yorkshire accent. Rincewind is, for all purposes, unequipped to handle every possible situation the universe can - and will - throw at him. He's a snarky, uncouth idget. He's a notorious coward, and willing to admit it if it prevents him from having to be useful. His only redeeming quality is that, despite his reluctance, Rincewind actually has a conscience.

Bio: Born under the wrong star, Rincewind has spent the majority of his short life trying not to die. It doesn't really matter what he's doing because Death and Misfortune are stalking him.

He doesn't speak much about his life at all - only to mention that he never really knew his parents and figures that, given his luck, they probably ran away while they still had the opportunity. After failing even the most basic of spells, he was undoubtedly banished from Canterlot and has spent his time either in various bars, or on the run from whatever danger is currently trying to kill him.

If pressed further, Rincewind claims to have come from a university far off near the center of Equestria. His instructors were evidently so impressed by his aptitude for magic that they sent him off into the world in search of an ancient and powerful artifact, only to return once he's found it. He doesn't seem to grasp the irony of the situation, especially given that they gave him no clues or description of said artifact.

Immersion Breaking Side Note: Rincewind is based off (well he IS) a character from Terry Pratchett's Discworld books. If you haven't read them, read them. If you have, yay for you. Either way, I'm going to try to include absolutely no spoilers from the books (which shouldn't be hard to do).

The entirety of Discworld must be ponified! :) Nice work!
